Scouting is a worldwide youth movement with the aim of supporting young people in their physical, mental, and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society. This is achieved through non-formal education with emphasis on practical activities in the outdoors.

The Scout Movement was founded in 1907 by Robert Baden-Powell, a retired Lieutenant General in the British Army and the first scout camp was held on Brownsea Island, England on 1stAugust of that year.

2nd Swansea Valley Scout Group was founded in Clydach, Swansea in the early 1900’s and is still going strong today. Our current Scout Hall was built in 1975, and was recently refurbished in 2011. We currently have approximately 24 Beavers, 24 Cubs, 22 Scouts, 6 explorers and 8 Leaders.
